For Tasting Tuesday, Anthony was solo and visited Victor & Dori Gotzmann, operators and managers of Fellowship of the Sip Organic Tea House & Restaurant on the Old Town Winchester Walking Mall! Also known as The World of Healing, this unique eatery is a hidden gem almost smack in the middle of the Walking Mall at 33 S. Loudoun Street in Winchester.
Anthony interviewed Dori to discuss their humble beginnings as an art gallery in 2017. As attention towards their efforts grew, they added organic teas and served light & delicious snacks. Now, they are a full service restaurant with a delightful menu of lovingly prepared dishes, organic teas, desserts, and even more than just food; a peaceful, easy experience that is distinct and different from all other places in and around Winchester.  Another great farm-to-table establishment, Dori and Victor source almost of all of their ingredients locally or otherwise within Virginia. Everything is freshly prepared in-house; their amazing bread selections prepared fresh and local. Fellowship of the Sip offers soups, lunch plates, sandwiches, wine and beer, small snacks and treats, desserts, wide variety of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, smoothies, fresh juices and more!  With gluten-free and vegan among their options, Fellowship of the Sip can meet a wide array of dietary options for guests.
We pay great attention to detail, we always choose high quality organic produce, brewing and cooking only using spring water. We also check all our tools and equipment to make sure they are made from non-toxic materials. And it’s all from our organic kitchen!
The presentation of the food on the plate is as artful as the array of artwork that can be found inside the establishment as they still display and sell artwork in addition to loose leaf organic teas, candles, bath soaps, and more.  The atmosphere is genuinely peaceful and the warmth inside puts you immediately at ease, much like the great smiles from Victor and Dori when they greet you.
Their incredible food and beverages are also frequently part of their other endeavors, such as their involvement in local events in and around the Walking Mall, including special events solely for patrons of The World of Healing/Fellowship of the Sip Organic Tea House & Restaurant! They organize art exhibitions, musical performances, theatrical performances, seminars, special events/parties. These folks are proud of their work and they spare no effort to be involved in the community and getting the community involved with them. (They are doing Chocolate Escape 2019 this coming weekend and their Chocolate & Ginger Spiced Cake is unbelievable! They are also going to be one of the stops on our Valentine’s Weekend Specialty Dessert Tour!)
So don’t walk on by this place. If you haven’t visited, you’ve missed it for far too long. Priced right, prepared right, in a wonderful environment, we are certain that if you go there for the first time you’ll wonder why you didn’t stop in sooner! And you’ll be back again!  We are pleased to have Dori, Victor, and Fellowship of the Sip as one of our Taste Winchester History Food & Beer Tour partners and look forward to seeing you on a tour soon! Check out the interview below:
