TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO GET OUT AND SAMPLE THE COMPETITORS’ COCKTAILS!  Get out there, try’em and vote!

To see our prior installments:

And of course we’re posting today about our third-day visits, and we hope today to update this blog post for day four, as we were unable to get to our final stop yesterday.  Again, the competition is fierce.  Also, we’ve unsurprisingly found the mixologists, servers, and patrons all to be very excited and we had many great conversations with so many people.  The following restaurants are participating:147 North, Brewbakers Restaurant, Crush Wine Bar, George’s Food and Spirits, Half Note Lounge, Macado’s, Oak Stone Pizza, Piccadilly Public House, Roma Old Town, Sexi Mexi Burrito Bar, The Butcher Station, The Hideaway Cafe, and Village Square Restaurant.  Voting can be done either by paper ballot (available at all participating locations), or only at the Winchester on the Rocks website!

For our third installment we visited (or intended to visit):

  • Crush Wine Bar, serving “Autumn Bonfire” – server, Shane
  • The Half-Note Lounge (George Washington Hotel), serving “Half-Whip Java” – server, Shaina.
  • George’s (George Washington Hotel), serving “Chai Teatini” – server,  Katie & Malik & Leighann.
  • The Butcher Station, (something came up and we were unable to get here, but we’re going to try today and we’ll update this post if and when we do).

So today we’re going to start by sharing a video clip, courtesy of Betsy & Marshall Steele, of the incredibly impressive presentation from Crush Wine Bar, really knocking it out of the proverbial park.  While we at TWH were disinclined to share what our ultimate votes will be, it’s hard to ignore this level “cocktail-tainment”.

On the final day Misty and Anthony split-duty and visited places separately.  Anthony visited the Half-Note Lounge and George’s at the George Washington Hotel.  First stop, the Half-Note, yielded a body-warming hot cocktail called the “Half-Whip Java” combining delicious and local French-Pressed coffee from Hopscotch Coffee, Jefferson’s Reserve, and other goodies that will also satisfy those with a sweet tooth… and then moving downstairs to George’s for the “Chai Teatini” – another wonderful cocktail (that Misty will have to try as a Chai Tea fan).

Misty visited Crush Wine Bar for their stunning Autumn Bonfire that some patrons described as a delicious smores that dials back the chocolate while accentuating the marshmallow… we’re going to try to head over to The Butcher Station today to wrap up the entire circuit.

Until then… photos from our excursion…
